How long is the adventure and what should I pack?

Your yoga adventure will be about 3 hours, this includes your boat ride to and from the island, a private yoga session on the beach with your group, time to enjoy a meditative walk, and light refreshments to celebrate.

We recommend packing:

  • 2 towels (1 for yoga, and 1 for drying off if you swim) if you have a sheet available, this is even better than a towel for yoga (it folds up small and sand doesn’t stick!)

  • light layers and stretchy clothing are best, be sure to wear your swimsuit underneath so you can take a swim if you like (if you have selected our sunset adventure, be sure to bring a light sweater etc)

  • bottled water to stay hydrated, we recommend a reusable bottle :)

  • sunscreen, hat and sunglasses

  • optional small bag to collect sharks teeth and seashells

  • cash to tip your boat captain

What snacks and drinks are provided?

We provide an assortment of fresh fruits and light snacks with fresh fruit, and champagne upon request-if you feel like celebrating. Because we love and want to protect our beautiful ocean and planet we strongly encourage the use of reusable drink and food containers; we will have metal cups for toasting and wooden tooth picks or reusable cutlery for snacking. Please be sure to bring your own reusable water bottle to stay hydrated!

Where is Lea Island?

Lea Island is a pristine, uninhabited, barrier island on the coast of North Carolina that is separate from the main island of Topsail where we are located. You can only reach Lea Island by boat, which makes the experience of visiting so unique and special.

Our beautiful Lea Island is a barrier island that is comprised of 5,641 undeveloped acres. There are so many beautiful treasures up and down the island, you’ll find seashells, sharks teeth, sand dollars, and occasionally, the very rare, scotch bonnet (not the chili pepper silly, the sea shell.) Check out some cool facts about NC shells here.

In the spring and summer months you can expect to see, dolphin pods swimming along the coastline, loggerhead sea turtles and hundreds of terns and skimmers chasing the shoreline. There are thousands of shorebirds that stop off to rest during their long migrations. Lea Island is also home to tidal marshes and creeks that serve the as a primary nursery area for fish, shrimp and crabs among many other sea creatures. Keep an eye out you might even see a star fish!
